| Key Capability | Toolwel (In-Browser) | Traditional Cloud Converters |
|---|---|---|
| Data Privacy & Security | 100% In-Browser RAM (Zero cloud upload) | Files uploaded & stored on remote servers |
| Usage Limits & Paywalls | Unlimited Free Conversions | 1-2 daily tasks, then $10-$20/mo paywall |
| File Size Restrictions | Up to 500 MB (Limited only by your device RAM) | Restricted to 5 MB - 25 MB on free tiers |
| Processing Latency | Instant (No network upload/download queues) | Queued behind cloud server load |
| Watermarks & Attribution | 100% Clean (Zero watermarks added) | Intrusive watermarks on free outputs |
| Account & Registration | No account, email, or password required | Mandatory account creation & email spam |
| Offline Compatibility | Fully functional offline once loaded | Fails without continuous cloud connection |
Unlike legacy cloud converters, Toolwel processes every document directly inside your device's memory sandbox. Zero files ever cross the internet.
By utilizing modern browser WebAssembly and multi-threaded CPU pipelines, tasks execute immediately without waiting for busy remote servers.
Powered by pdf-lib, WebAssembly, and HTML5 Canvas API for bit-perfect PDF synthesis, vector rasterization, and lossless image optimization.
No subscription traps, no hidden credits, and no paywalls. Supported cleanly through non-intrusive, policy-compliant Google AdSense advertising.
Most online PDF tools quietly upload your sensitive documents, financial statements, and personal photos to third-party cloud servers. Here is how Toolwel is fundamentally different.
1. File Read from Disk
Your PDF or image is loaded.
2. Uploaded Over Public Internet
Sent to remote AWS or cloud servers. Vulnerable to interception.
3. Saved to Remote Temporary Disks
Processed on shared server hardware. Retained until background cleanup runs.
1. Direct Local Memory Load
Read directly into your browser JavaScript ArrayBuffer.
2. Local WebAssembly Processing
Processed at near-native CPU speeds inside browser Web Workers.
3. Zero Outbound Packets
Converted file is downloaded immediately from RAM. Memory is purged upon tab close.
Engineered for lawyers, medical professionals, accountants, and privacy advocates who cannot legally or ethically upload client documents to the cloud.
Every file is parsed into temporary Uint8Array buffers. When you close the browser tab or hit refresh, memory is immediately garbage collected.
Your files never leave your device. We do not inspect, upload, or retain your documents, media, or personal data on remote servers.
Once Toolwel loads in your browser cache, you can disconnect your internet and execute PDF and image transformations in airplane mode.
Hardened browser execution rules block unauthorized third-party scripts from reading local canvas or WebAssembly memory buffers.

Understanding the security, speed, and privacy advantages of local WebAssembly execution over traditional cloud upload services.
Every day, millions of people upload personal tax forms, medical records, bank statements, resumes, and legal contracts to online document converters without realizing the privacy implications. Traditional cloud converters transfer your confidential files over the internet to remote data centers, where they may be temporarily cached, written to server logs, or exposed to third-party security vulnerabilities.
Toolwel fundamentally reimagines file utilities by eliminating the server entirely from the processing pipeline. Leveraging modern web technologies—such as HTML5 Canvas, client-side WebAssembly (WASM), and typed binary ArrayBuffers—all file parsing, image transformations, and PDF compilations execute directly inside your device's local browser memory (RAM).
When you use our Image to PDF converter, Merge PDF utility, or AI background remover, zero file bytes are transmitted to any remote server. Your data never leaves your computer or phone, guaranteeing absolute confidentiality, full GDPR compliance, and near-instantaneous execution speed. Once you close or refresh your browser tab, all temporary memory buffers are instantly purged.
No databases, no S3 buckets, and zero file caching.
Immediate processing without cloud queue delays or bandwidth caps.
Taps into your multi-core CPU and GPU via WebGL & WebAssembly.

Straight answers about privacy, limits and how Toolwel works.
You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, navigate to the Network tab, and process any document. Zero file bytes are sent to any server. Ads and speed testing may make their own isolated requests.
No. The images and PDFs you select in Toolwel's tools are processed inside your own browser and are not uploaded to our servers. Toolwel has no file-upload feature and no file storage. Two things are separate from your files: the Internet Speed Test sends test traffic to Cloudflare's network, and advertising or analytics services may load their own scripts. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Yes. You do not need an account or a credit card, and we do not charge for the tools. Toolwel may show ads to cover its running costs. Because the tools run in your browser, we do not pay to process your files on our servers.
Toolwel may show ads from Google AdSense and may use analytics to understand how the site is used. These services can use cookies. They do not receive the content of the files you process. You can read how this works and how to manage your choices in our Privacy Policy.
Your files are not sent to us, which reduces the risk compared with online converters that upload files. However, we cannot make legal or compliance guarantees. For highly sensitive or regulated documents, follow your organization's policy and consider trusted offline software.
Toolwel does not set a fixed limit, but your device's memory does. Very large files, such as high-resolution photos or documents of tens of megabytes, can be slow or fail, especially on phones. If a tool becomes slow or stops, try a smaller file or use a computer.
Toolwel is not designed for offline use. The tools run in your browser, but the pages and, for background removal, the AI model files must first load from the internet. The Internet Speed Test always needs an active connection.
An AI model runs on your device to separate the subject from the background. The first time you use it, the model files are downloaded, which can take a little while on a slow connection. After that the image is processed locally and saved as a PNG so transparency is preserved. Results vary: hair, glass, shadows and low-contrast backgrounds can be harder to cut out cleanly.
Toolwel measures your connection to the nearest Cloudflare server. Other tests use different servers, so numbers can differ. Your device, Wi-Fi signal, other people using the network and the time of day also affect the result. For a more stable reading, test on a wired connection with other devices idle.
